Export Selected Items to Excel release 1.2.0

I have worked on the updates for my component "Selected Items Export to Excel", most of the issues are mentioned by the users (Thanks for mentioning issues in comments).



What's new in SharePoint 2010 Export Selected Items to Excel Release 1.2.0


  1. Fixed Taxonomy field Single/Multiple values issues.

  2. Now supports the below templates 


    • Form Library 

    • Announcements 

    • Discussions 

    • Contacts 

    • Links 

    • Site Pages 

    • Tasks

    i didn't find any download files on the codeplex with version 1.2.0

    please do update them, and if possible please do share source code.

    Hello,
    It's great solution for export only specific items from the list (ex. filtered list).I have the same problem but I must export only selected items to Word template document. I don't know how to do it but i have to use simplest way for it (as a button? on the ribbon). I'm not a programmer. If you can help me or may be give me some recomendation, I will be grateful to you.

      Hi Maria, thanks for the comments. For your requirement of exporting selected items to Word Template you certainly need some help from a programmer. You can refer to the https://selecteditemsexport.codeplex.com/downloads/get/387899 source code for this component and just change the export format to Word template document. I'll try to bring some changes to the code based on your requirement, if time permits. Have a good day !

    Hi Rajesh,

    When I tried to deploy the WSP using:
    Install-SPSolution –Identity Rjesh.Solutions.wsp –WebApplication http://mysite.com:34465 –GACDeployment

    I received an error stating this solution contains no resources scoped for a web application and cannot be deployed to a particular Web Application.

    Is there anyway to deploy this solution to a specific web application and not to the entire farm?

    Hi Rajesh,

    I was looking for the functionality that your wsp was providing however I'm working in a SharePoint 2013 environment. I downloaded the wsp installed it on my farm and activated it on a site... When I try to export a selected item I get the error "The file format and extension of [insertfielanmehere].xls don't match. The file could be corrupted or unsafe. Unless you trust its source, don't open it. Do you want to open it anyway.
    When I say yes, I get an error message "unable to read file". Have you tested your wsp in SharePoint 2013? I notice your file format is a bit old (xls versus xlsx) (I'm using office 2013, although I tried this with Office 2010 and it didn't work there either). I downloaded your version 1.2.1 from https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/SharePoint-2010-Export-ede385b9/view/Reviews

    Thanks so much for this plugin. It is helping out alot, one of my fields is a date/time field and was wondering if there is a way to make exported data with 12hour format instead of having to tweak the excel file each time? thnx again!
